HDASS (Home Digital Audio Studio System ) is an conceptual music sofa I designed and implemented in 2005. This is my my master thesis project supervised by Dr. Alvin W. Y. Su from department of computer engineering and Dr. Meng-Dar Shieh from department of industrial design. The main concept of the sofa is to provide the new entertainment user experience in the living room. HDASS has an embedded system, developed using Qt GUI framework. The embedded system comes with a touch control panel to play music and connect to the internet to download and search music.
The embedded system uses a small motherboard with a VIA X86 CPU using an embedded linux system with Qt GUI interface. I designed and implemented the embedded system.
The major functions includes:
- Music jukebox
- Music management system to download/search music from internet
- Clock/Photo albums display
