About Chun-Yi

527446_4499101590985_555464965_nChun-Yi is a Jolly Good Fellow and Senior Software Engineer at Intel Cooperation.  He is working on software innovations for 3D XPoint ™ technology. He earned his Doctorate in Computer Science in 2014 from the Virginia Tech, USA supervised by Dr. Kirk. W. Cameron.  He also holds a Master of Science in Computer Science and Information Engineering from the National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, supervised by Dr. Alvin W. Y. Su. In 2011, Chun-Yi worked at Pacific Northwest National Lab working with Dr. Andres Marquez to research the memory behavior on the Cray XMT supercomputer. Later in 2013, He joined Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as the Lawrence Livermore Research Scholar to explore future non-volatile memories technologies for future supercomputer systems working with Dr. Edgar A. Leon.

Chun-Yi’s research interests include memory and storage systems, parallel and distributed architectures and applications; machine learning; performance/power monitoring, modeling and analysis;  tool support for parallel programming; power efficiency for parallel systems; and optimizing parallel and distributed I/O. He also service as a reviewer of serval international journals and conferences including:
